I'm a rambler, I can't spell, nor do I care, I think grammar is hogwash ;-) (that is a joke for the funny boned impaired). I am admittedly not all that good at grammar though...I blame Florida (when in doubt, always blame the Florida public school system). I am a habitual abuser of defenseless commas, ellipsis, and semi colons. Colons scare me too much to abuse them, but rarely. I so cannot spell that I just caught, a year after I did it, how badly spelled my interests were.

I am a dork and a nerd but I am not tech inclined enough to qualify as a geek... though I am picking up some decidedly geeky interests as of late.

I'm honest to the core, sensitive, and way to open; simply I'm me. I am obsessive and belong to way too many communities, of which I rarely read some.


I am divorcing after 11 years of marriage, and learning who I am for the first time in a long time. I am really liking the "me" I am finding. I had single there but it did not accurately portray my relationship status. I am loving my second chance at going to college.

This was my massivly long OkCupid profile, hey when I was single did I really want a person that wouldn't want my insanity? And I do tend to route new people to it as insight into who I am so here seemed the just right place for it.

My self-summary

I am me. I ramble and explain myself in choppy sentences.

I am both dorky and geeky, but not techy. I am turning into quite the science nerd. I like video games that your average 9 year old likes. (think Zelda, yes I am *that* girl...) I am also picking up a comic book habit to match my game interests... I fulfill most of the stereotypes of a nerdy girl that is socially awkward.

I love vintage things.I am just a real girly girl, in a lot of ways. I especially like girly, vintage things such as girdles, back seamed stockings, chunky heels, and vintage costume jewelry.

I am a big girl and always will be one, I am proud of my body too. I am slowly becoming a fit big girl, currently about a size 22. Right now Zumba is my current obsession, it is beating me of course but... (Let's not talk about the spinning classes.)

I am about as quirky as quirky comes with out being considered insane. I am extremely klutzy.

I am a neither nor on just about everything in life, I live in the gray zones.

I love tulips, but I hate cut flowers.

I alternately, and some times at same time, behave like I am 80 or 8. I am both too mature for my age and not mature enough.

I was married, and I have 3 kids.

I love to play. You may take that as you will.

OkCupid is correct in that I am the least aggressive person on the planet. I do not think that is a bad thing, but it can hinder me.

I enjoy healthy debates.

I am honest to the core, even to my detriment at times. I am way too trusting and can get hurt easily.

This didn't really give me the option (I wanted) to explain what I am looking for. Right now with my life going completely bonkers I am not looking for more than friends, at all. The go out to art shows, occasional concert, or just hang out type of friend. The type of friend with interesting hobbies, and a tolerance to share them with me would be awesome. I can always use friends,I am admittedly socially awkward enough that I do not have many. I care intensely for all of my friends and hate losing them.

What I'm doing with my life:

I am going to school to decide what I want to be when I grow up.

In my crazy, over-achieving mind that is going to medical school. (Yes I am very ambitious.) For now just in college.

Trying to keep my little family sane.

I am finding myself an emerging identity, I cannot really tell you who I will be 2 months from now. I cannot even tell you who I will be two days from now... maybe not even two minutes... possibly 2 seconds... get back to me on that one.

I'm really good at:

Being quirky. I like to think I am really good at learning new things (as long as they are not physically inclined).

I wish I was at belly dancing or any dancing, at that I am more like ok.

NOT spelling or grammar. embarrassingly not.

I am a little strange and a lot shy. My hair sticks get some attention. (I am sure my size.) If its down; my hair.

My favorite books, movies, music, and food:

Music: I love 80's new wave, old school goth, and a whole bunch of alternative type music,Rockabilly, musicals, Broadway, and big band too. Anything on the Retro Red Eye Express on 90.1 on Saturday night or KRLI 103.9. specific artists: the Pixies, Gary Numan, Tears for Fears, Softboys, any band with Robyn Hitchcock, XTC, Tori Amos,Modest Mouse, Joy Division, Bolshoi, Bjork, Love and Rockets, anything David Jay, General Public,English Beat, Interpol, Bratmobile,L7, Southern Cultural on the Skids, adore The Faint, Calvin Harris, the Mechanical Walking Robotboy I am sure think of more later. I am embarrassingly fond of Kelly Clarkson. Oh should add J-Rock to this I guess.. gah I am becoming a stereotype but damned if Asian Kung-Fu Generation are not the most awesome thing.

I love books but hard to pick just a few: Any Discworld, Spindle's End,Beauty and of course To Kill a Mockingbird. as authors I love Edgar Allen Poe and Robin McKinley amongst many. I love reading my textbooks. Lately most my none textbook reading time is spent on comics.

I love movies and tv way WAY too much. My 3 all time favorite films are "Wings of Desire", "Arsenic and Old Lace", and "Mr Blandings Builds His Dream House". If that didn't make it clear; I love the screwball comedies of old hollywood. I also adore old horror films. If it involves giant bugs attacking: I will love it. More modernly, I am still a sucker for screwball comedies, fantasy, science fiction, and the odd foreign film. I like all of Wim Wender's films. I am addicted to Pushing Daisies , The Amazing Race,and Heroes I have a current thing for re-showings of BBC's "New Tricks". I love sci-fi and watch even really bad shows like Cleopatra 2525 and not just to get to Bruce Campbell in Jack of All Trades...

I love ethnic food such as Cuban, Mexican, Indian, Greek, on and on I could go; I love to cook. I miss Cuban black beans and rice like FL had. I like simple foods too, like baked macaroni and cheese. I am a big girl for a reason.

The six things I could never do without:


Of course there are the basics: air, water, and my family. These are the things I do not really need to live, but why would I want to....

1. Music: of any kind; it is my soother when I am in a bad mood, my rev upper when I am cleaning or cooking, my companion when I am in a good mood, my constant source of joy. I also like to listen to it at really *loud* levels...

2. Belly dancing (and Zumba): it taught me I am sexy and beautiful.

3. Food: it goes past nourishment, I do not care what they say, there is no world worth living in without food stuff like Percorino Romano, baked custard, or even a simple English muffin with butter. My Mandoline Slicer: ok maybe I could, but man the thing can slice carrots I can see through and is just too fun to play with. (So, it's a whole other thing, technically a seventh item, but its food related ...)

4.Stockings: Not pantyhose! True stockings, the type held up by a garter. Be them lacy topped, plain topped, cuban heeled, back seamed, opaque, sheer, nude, black, fun coloured, fishnet, lace, silk, or even cotton. I could not live my life without the joy of stockings. (Or really the proper SIX gartered undergarment to hold them up.)

5. Shoes: be it my sensible Born everyday shoes... or my stash of vintage style heels... or my too-cool pairs of boots... I am a shoe girl. I just do not have the budget (or non-thrifty ways) to indulge in it. Thank God for Dillard's shoe clearance sales... {and I do wonder if the combo of this and number four make me look like a self foot fetishist...}

6. Hair Sticks: they are pretty,hold my hair up in a jiffy, do not damage it, and just really make me happy like a little girl.

I am out of things but the seriously addicted behaviour I suffer from in mere days away from a comic book (or my lj comms about them...) shows that soon I am going to have to oust one of those up there and replace it with Nightwing, Hellblazer, or Hellboy.

I spend a lot of time thinking about:

why koi are so creepy... how someone kissed someone for 1st time and why... how I would redesign my house if I could... when the 1st person wrote something down, why did they?...lalala... I wonder if anyone actually did use clams as currency ala the Flintstones...what was with the baby or kid versions of all the cartoons in the 80s?... and other random nonsense... LOTS of random nonsense.

If couldn't tell my thoughts tend to ramble and jump topic a lot.

Why I seem to be only person gets that true connection, as in friendship is more important then romantic love any day. (This does not mean I do not have a romantic side though.)...How the standard terms for sexuality are too limiting and implies gender is how to choose while also excluding all the gray areas of gender...Why things that are sensual are not favored over things that are sexual. (While the later is good the former is transcending.)

On a typical Friday night I am:

curled up at home watching Numb3rs, or earlier playing with my kids. Lately I am proofing a report due or otherwise worrying about what I have due Monday...when it's drive-in weather I will be at the drive-in with my family. (No really its tons of fun and family friendly...I love the drive-in... miss drive-in since the move... I may be at the comic shop now

The most private thing I'm willing to admit here:

My belly is pouchy regardless of my weight; It has grown babies

My body is covered in stretch marks, a lot of them

I sag in areas that non-moms don't, and thats that

I have a mild obsession with my hair, it is near hip length, or 36 inches long, shooting for way longer. On the other hand I do not care about hair on those I date; though I am partial to underarm hair. (I would love to talk to any other long haired, about long haired stuff...)

also: fish terrify me...I actually think my new gray hairs are really pretty and want more...I blush insanely easily and I am very ticklish. I giggle when I am nervous...I have a strong need for physical contact; not just of the kind your brain went to.
